Tri-Art Acrylics got their start in the mid 1990's in the back room of a family owned art store, school and gallery in Kingston Ontario Canada, known as Art Noise. Starting with one employee in the back room of the store the company has grown and expanded to over 24,000 square feet with up to 42 employees working at any given time. Having started with a high-end artist series of paint, they now produce quality paints for every level of art practice and education.
With the help of distributors, they now sell 5800 distinct acrylic and oil paint products throughout Canada, the United States, Australia, Europe and Asia. Tri-Art does not sell directly to the public. Locally,Tri-Art products are available at Wallack's Art Supplies on Princess Street, Kingston.
Tri-Art's Green Initiatives: Tri-Art is committed to operating an ecologically responsible factory. They have adopted procedures in their practices to help minimize our footprint on the environment. Water used for cleaning our equipment and for the production of paint is recaptured in an internal drainage system and used again in production. In addition to recycling the waste water and keeping it out of the local sewage system, they make an acrylic by-product known as Sludge. This is made from 100% re-harvested pigments and by-products of paint production. Tri-Art's latest endeavor is to make their own packaging. they are now making all of the jars, tubes and lids on-site rather than importing from across the world, thus helping to reduce their carbon imprint and maintain quality control.
