The Flooring industry has enjoyed some exciting changes within the last 10 years. Here are just a few.

Hard Wood Flooring

The wood companies used to offer two, maybe three color choices. Now you will discover up to twenty colors in widths ranging from 2 1/4" to 5", and in a number of different finishes: some smooth and formal with a "piano finish" and others featuring a "rustic wire brush scraped" look. Reclaimed barn wood and timber from the lakes is making a strong fashion statement. The boards are milled and finished to offer the homeowner a unique look with a great story about where and how the floor was brought to life.

LaminateFlooring

The days of the "cheap" looking laminate floors are coming to an end. The new generation of laminates is so far ahead of the original version that it can be difficult for even the trained eye to notice a difference between real hard wood and the new laminates. The visuals are exceptional; the finishes are textured, wavy, or scraped. They come in an assortment of widths from 3" to 7" and thicknesses of just under 1/2". The strength of the redesigned locking system guarantees your floor will not separate or drift apart anymore. The 4 sided micro- beveled edges create that real wood look and avoid the cupping that was visible in the earlier versions.

Carpeting

If carpet is your choice of floor covering, we are pleased to show some of North America's largest and most reputable manufacturers. Berbers are considered long lasting and hard wearing, and offer a more tailored and formal look. The cut pile Saxonies are still very popular and with their current stronger fibres and stain resistant properties they are built to last beyond their usual 10 yr warranty. The color selection is amazing and the styles are easy to work into any decor or setting.

Other flooring choices

Vinyl flooring is still popular, and in keeping with the dramatic changes we have seen in the industry, this category has also greatly improved with the introduction of the Fibre Floor and super strong wear layers, offering us a wide range of quality, colors, designs and patterns.


Dura Ceramic, by Congoleum, looks like ceramic and slate, cleans easily, is warmer under foot than ceramic, doesn't require a lot of fuss to prepare the underlay, in fact it can be glued right to your existing sub floor in most cases.

Ceramic / Porcelain tiles are still, and in fact becoming more, the rage for the fashion conscious homeowner. With heating pads and mats now available, the cool feeling underfoot need not be a deterrent.
